 Ultimaker 3: Professional  3D Printer

  • Complete design freedom
  • Reliable dual extrusion with water soluble support
  • High uptime and fast changeovers with swappable print cores
  • Cohesive 3D printing ecosystem and connectivity

Dual Extrusion

Combine build and water-soluble support materials to create complex mechanical parts and intricate surfaces or choose to print with two colors. Ultimaker 3’s unique auto nozzle-lifting system ensures a smooth, professional finish with every print.

Unique Active Leveling & Nozzle Lifting System

The Ultimaker 3 features Active Leveling to automatically calibrate the build plate. A capacitive sensor in the print head measures distances between the print bed and the nozzle, and the tilt angle is compensated by adjusting the z height in the first layers. The result? More accurate leveling and improved build plate adhesion. While the Ultimaker 3’s unique auto nozzle-lifting system ensures a smooth, professional finish with every print.

Swappable Print Cores

Faster print core changes mean higher uptime and easier maintenance. Your Ultimaker 3 comes with print cores for build (AA) and support (BB) materials. There’s a customized nozzle geometry per material – ensuring lower clogging risks and a more reliable 3D printing experience.

NFC Material Scanner

Your Ultimaker 3 identifies the material that is being loaded and checks the correspondence of the filament and print core type you are using. Coupled with our extensively tested preconfigured material profiles in Cura, the Ultimaker 3’s material recognition system ensures your 3D printer is set for the highest-quality results.

Simple controls and connectivity

Ultimaker PLA

Ultimaker PLA (polylactic acid) filament provides a no-hassle 3D printing experience thanks to its reliability and good surface quality. Our PLA is made from organic and renewable sources. It’s safe, easy to print with and it serves a wide range of applications for both novice and advanced users.

Ultimaker ABS

Used by an array of industries worldwide, ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) is known for its exceptional mechanical properties. Specifically formulated to minimize warping and ensure consistent interlayer adhesion, our ABS allows the creation of functional prototypes and complex end-use parts with ease.

Ultimaker CPE family

CPE (co-polyester) materials are chemical resistant, tough and demonstrate good dimensional stability. It is a preferred choice for both functional prototypes and mechanical parts. While both CPE and CPE+ provide similar performance characteristics, CPE+ provides the added benefit of higher temperature resistance and increased impact strength.

Ultimaker Nylon

Used by many manufacturers worldwide, Nylon (polyamide) is well-known for its impressive durability, high strength-to-weight ratio, flexibility, low friction, and corrosion resistance. With its ability to withstand significant mechanical stress, Nylon is a great choice for 3D printing tools, functional prototypes, and end-use parts.

Ultimaker PC

With Ultimaker PC (polycarbonate) filament, you can print strong and tough parts that retain dimensional stability when subjected to temperatures as high as 110 ºC. Our PC is a perfect filament for printing molds, tools, functional prototypes and parts for short-run manufacturing.

Ultimaker TPU 95A

Highly versatile for industrial applications, TPU 95A (thermoplastic polyurethane) filament is the go-to choice for a wide array of manufacturing projects that demand the qualities of both rubber and plastic. Designed for 3D printing consistency, TPU 95A is a semi-flexible and chemical resistant filament with strong layer bonding. In addition, it is easier and faster to print than other TPU filaments.

Ultimaker PVA

PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) is a water soluble support material for multi-extrusion 3D printing. With a good thermal stability, Ultimaker PVA is ideal for printing complex models that require supports for large overhangs, deep internal cavities, and intricate geometries. Designed for a seamless 3D printing experience, our PVA provides good adhesion to both PLA and Nylon.

Specialty Filaments

Ultimaker 3D Printers adhere to the open-source philosophy including filaments. This means it can allow you to 3d print with any third-party filaments including specialty filaments like WoodFill, MetalFill, Wax or even Carbon Fiber filaments.
